Pool History

Origin

The pool was started by Jaryd in 2013 and grew year after year simply by word of mouth. Ten years later, the pool had grown to over 600 players and became a staple of the college football season. In 2024, Jaryd passed the torch to Jake, who took what Jaryd built and gave it a new home to faciliate the scale and expansion it continues to see.

Eras

2011-2022

For the first 11 years, at least one person managed to survive throughout the entire season. The 2020 season shortened by COVID saw 10 winners. The historical records of picks by week are not available for these seasons, but the winners are listed at the bottom of this page.

2023

For the first time, in 2023 no one managed to survive past the SEC Conference Championship Game due to Vanderbilt not winning any eligible games all season. This marks the only season to date with no survivors.

2024-2025

2024 and 2025 were the first two seasons of the expanded 16-team SEC. 2024 proved to be very winnable, with a record 38 survivors by the end of the year. 2025 came back to normal with only 6.
